Every family needs a break from all the TV screens, computers, phones, tablets, etc. Well, why not have a Family Game Night? Enjoy old fashioned family fun with Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, and more! While you are at it, why not make some family friendly, fun snacks?
Before the Games, Why not make a SNACK!
Homemade Chex Mix
3 cups each: Corn Chex Cereal, Rice Chex Cereal, Wheat Chex Cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1/4 cup party peanuts (lightly salted)
8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter or margarine
6 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons seasoned salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
3/4 tablespoon onion powder
- Heat oven to 250 F.
- Melt butter in oven or microwave.
- Add Worcestershire Sauce and all seasonings to butter.
- Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine nuts and cereal.
- Coat well with butter/Worcestershire/seasoning mixture, by pouring it over the cereal.
- Lay out in single layers on cookie sheets.
- Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15-30 minutes.
- Once done, spread the hot mix out on paper towels to dry. Store in airtight container. ENJOY!
(You may alter the recipe to fit your taste a little more.)
Here’s an idea! Amp it up with some spice by replacing a couple of tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce with your favorite hot sauce, and replace seasoned salt with chili powder!

After getting your snacks ready, it wouldn’t be game night without what? GAMES, OF COURSE!! Some of our favorite games include many of the classics such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, and Scrabble, but we also love many of the new ones, too, like Head Bandz, and The Logo Board Game!
This week, we would like to give you a couple of ideas for you to add to your own stock pile of games right here:
A Game with a Simple Concept
Playing Logo is easy. The question master draws the first card from the box and asks the first (purple) question to the player on his or her left. If the player answers correctly, that player moves his or her game piece to the first purple space on the board.
The same steps are repeated for each color-coded question answered correctly. Questions become more challenging as the question master moves down the list on the card. And when a question is answered incorrectly, the next player has the opportunity to answer the same question.
This board game comes with everything you’ll need to play. Groups of two to six players can play individually or in teams, asking and answering questions about popular products, symbols, and slogans without any complicated setup or rules.
Nostalgic Fun Offers Wide Appeal
This board game not only tests your knowledge of contemporary brands, but also revisits products and advertisements long since vanished. Older adults will appreciate the nostalgic jingles and slogans, while younger people will enjoy the questions pertaining to contemporary companies and retailers.
What’s in the Box
Logo game board, 400 question cards, 6 game pieces, and instructions.
Go for four in a row!
Do you go up, to the side, or diagonally? Start in the middle or at the edge? It’s your choice in Connect 4 Grid. Stack the 4 discs vertically, line them up side to side, or go on the diagonal. As long as you get 4 in a row, you win. Stay one step ahead of your opponent and block their attempts to get to 4-in-a-row first. Play all 3 Connect 4 Classic Grid games, and crush the competition!
Choose your game
Connect 4 Classic Grid offers 3 ways to play. Choose the classic Connect 4 game and line up 4 red or gold discs to win. It’s fast and easy. Connect 4 Frenzy starts with “ready, set, drop!” and then it’s a fun free-for-all of discs flying into the slots. In Connect 4 Frenzy, both players drop their discs at the same time, using one hand only! When you play the third game, you choose to drop a disc into the grid, or eject one from the bottom using the pop out feature. It’s the Connect 4 you love, with new challenges and strategy!
What’s in the Box:
Grid, 2 feet, 21 red discs, 21 gold discs, label sheet, instructions
No matter what games or snack you choose, enjoy this time with your family! Be sure to set aside time each week, whether it’s on Friday, or any other day your family has free, and do something together!! Make it memorable, laugh, smile, and have FUN!
