Spring Cleaning Isn’t Just for the Spring!

For many people, Spring cleaning is just that- cleaning that happens once a year in the SPRING! But why? Wouldn’t doing your Spring cleaning twice a year lessen the load if it were done two times a year instead?

I have come up with an amazing idea that can help you to clear the clutter, and to make the job less of a burden on everyone involved.

By making it a point to dole out tasks to each family member (keeping age, and appropriate tasks in mind) you can get the job done in half the time, and keep your house looking immaculate all year long.

Since Fall is just around the corner, and approaching fast, I have already gotten my lists ready as well as some new tools that can help me get the job done a little easier. I have checked out everything from carpets cleaners to vacuums, to cleaning products and more.

You can view the best handheld vacuums currently on the market at the Household Appliance Judge website. They had some pretty good info and deals. I am looking into a new vacuum from there since my current one is full of dog hair and stinks to high heaven.

As far as cleaning the carpet, I have been checking out this carpet cleaner in specific; Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer, Model FH50150. It is available on Amazon.com for a really great price and I love the fact that it has dual tanks, and also mixes the cleaner for me so I don’t have to worry about adding to much!

Other cleaning things I have already gotten and am in the works of getting are:

Mr Clean Magic Erasers
Lysol Disinfectant
Swiffer Sweeper Pads
Swiffer Mop Pads
Swiffer Dusters
Microfiber Towels (DO NOT WASH THESE WITH ANYTHING BUT THEMSELVES!!)
Clorox Bleach
Mean Green Degreaser
Trash Bags (for things to go to our local Good Will or Salvation Army)
And a few other odds and ends…

Most of these I bought through Amazon, the rest I bought at my local Dollar General.

No matter what room we are in, we do it together and start at the top of the room and work our way down to every single corner, nook, and cranny. Doing this ensures everything in one room gets completed. For some families, it might be easier to do a room a day depending on the size of your home (we live in a 900 sq ft apartment). No matter how you do it, I highly recommend trying this out and see if when Spring rolls around, that you aren’t happy you did.

If you have tips, or suggestions, please comment below and tell us your secrets for keeping your home in tip top shape!

Here are a few printable checklists that come in very handy.

You can always make your own though if these don’t cover everything that you would like, or just add to these.
